Art is Science, Science is Art

Beauty exists ubiquitously in nature. As scientists and mathematicians, we have this innate desire to understand and quantify this beauty as well as admiring its aesthetic forms. Yet, artists and sculptors, through their careful observations and studies, can often grasp a deeper intuition of such objects and produce refreshingly challenging pieces for us to admire.

One good example of this is study of spirals. They are endlessly fascinating to mathematicians and artists alike, given its seemingly complex yet simplistic patterns. Here's a nice video that showcases the wonder of the spiral in nature, and in art.
